Rumor: Call of Duty is coming to Game Pass

Call of Duty is coming to Game Pass

A new theory suggests Call of Duty is coming to Game Pass, as many pondered what will happen after Microsoft set to buy Activision Blizzard.

Twitter user ModernWarzone suggested Call of Duty is coming to Game Pass, noting various Call of Duty titles have appeared prominently on the Game Pass deals page.

The theory is the same thing happened with Bethesda games prior to them officially being purchased by Microsoft, after which all titles were rolled into Game Pass.

With Microsoft spending a massive $68.7 billion on the acquisition, it only makes sense that Call of Duty is coming to Game Pass alongside the rest of Activision Blizzard’s library of games, and providing that this rumor pans out, it wouldn’t shock me to see other Activision Blizzard titles on Game Pass such as Diablo, Overwatch, StarCraft and maybe even World of Warcraft.

All of this sounds well and good for Game Pass users, however, there is always the chance that this does not come to fruition, especially when considering recent reports that the Federal Trade Commission is reviewing the purchase in order to study the impact that the deal could have on Microsoft’s competition.

The FTC probe came alongside alarming reports that Bobby Kotick met with Alexander von Furstenberg, the stepson of billionaire Barry Diller, just days before the purchase was made. This led to the U.S. Department of Justice investigate whether Activision’s C.EO Bobby Kotick and Alexander von Furstenberg violated insider-trading laws.

So what do you make of all of this? Will Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard fall through? Do you think Call of Duty is coming to Game Pass? And what are some other games you’d like to see come to Game Pass? Let us know in the comments below!
