Retro City Rampage MS-DOS Floppy and Boxed Floppy Set Now Available to Pre-Order

We previously reported on how crazy VBlank Entertainment and creator Brian Provinciano are by creating a legitimate MS-DOS version of Retro City Rampage.

Now, pre-orders for an actual 3.5-inch floppy disc version of Retro City Rampage 486 are now available. To be clear – the MS-DOS version of the game has been made available for free, as an update, to all owners of the original on PC, Mac, and Linux.

There’s even a prototype for both the Nintendo Entertainment System and Windows 3.1 version available! Now, onto the physical versions:

You can get a single 3.5″ floppy and Steam Key for $14.99, or the collector’s box for $29.99. The collector’s box comes with:

  • Retro City Rampage 486 for MS-DOS on 3.5″ Floppy DiskThe full game on a single 1.44MB Floppy Disk
  • Retail Nintendo Entertainment System Box (dimensions 5″ x 7″ x 1″)
  • Cloth Map (dimensions 7″ x 5.9″)

  • 24 Page ManualFeaturing magic decoder hidden images and never before seen sprites and concept art.
  • Retro City Rampage™ DX   Steam Key, which includes:PC, MAC, and LINUX digital downloads

  • Bonus Windows 3.1 prototype version digital download
  • Limited to 1,000 units numbered with a unique sticker of authenticity.

You can pre-order either version of Retro City Rampage 486 via the game’s official website. The floppy version is expected to ship some time in mid to late August.

    This will make a lot of collectors happy. Not me, oldest I got was Windows 98.

    Ok it seems that my eyes indeed see what they see… and they love what they see. I have huge urge to buy that sexy flopy disk.
