No Improved Breast Bounce for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on the PC

dead or alive 5 last round 2015-03-18

Dead or Alive fans who want to get the latest game on PC are in for disappointment.

According to specifications listed on Gamecity, the improved breast physics resulting from the new Soft Engine, which are in use on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, will not be appearing in the PC port of the game. Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on the PC will use the PS3’s particle effects; will not have online play for about three months; and the two extra stages available for next-gen consoles, “The Crimson” and “The Danger Zone”, will also be absent. The PC version of Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will, however, support 4K resolution and the PS4’s shadow effects.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will be available for the PC from March 30, through Steam. It was originally scheduled to launch on February 17, alongside the console versions of the game.

(Thanks, NeoGAF.)

This is such BULLSHIT. FUCK. YOU. They’ve just squashed all of the good will they got by porting this to the PC.

Very very disappointing news, but some people saw it coming.
Still, subpar DOA on PC in 2015 is better than no DOA at all, at least for now.
I still hope they add it to the game somehow in the future through updates or another improved release of the game if the sales are good enough.

PC stands for politically correct. :P

Yeah, this is nonsense comparable to Dark Souls 2’s Scholar of the First Sin being on another server for PC.

There’s also no online for three months, no controller vibration and no achievements.

This game passed from my “Get it day one/Pre-order” to “Wait for the Summer/Winter sale and get it for $5” list.

    Good job, KOEI.

They have to leave some crumbs for the console peasants. Fair enough.

KOEI put no effort on PC releases, just look at DW8 Empire.

If they’d put no effort in it, they would have just given us a straight PS4 port. They spent money in order to ensure PC players would get an inferior experience. IDIOTS.

It’s not even a straight PS3 port. Why even bother Frankensteing it?

Honestly, with all the pre-order bonuses attached to this on Steam, people should ask for refunds en masse. This is ridiculous. Koei remains one of the last few Japanese devs that make horrid PC ports.

I would’ve gotten the PC version too. But I can’t really be bothered to buy the console version right now.

And then they’ll turn around and say, “See, this is why we don’t make games for the PC. A bunch of entitled westerners.”

Well fuck you. I certainly wont be paying money for an inferior PS3 version that’s below even the PS4 one. No improved soft textures and jiggle physics means no money from me.

For me the deal breaker were the two stages, there is no reason to not include them on PC other than laziness or wanting to push the console releases; I could have accepted the ps3 effects, but that was just too much for me, and I’ve asked my first Steam refund for the first game I’ve preordered in many years. I’ll just wait that it will get to 5-10 € if I’ll still want to play it in the future.

Such bullshit. I don’t even really game on PC and this kind of shit annoys me. No online play for 3 months?? and no improved boobie bounce?! Why even bother porting it?

    Yes. Definitely.
It’s still better than the PS3 version, it just lacks some new features.
From what I’ve heard it’s based on an old arcade version that used a pumped up PS3 version and now got ported to PC.
    As a product, it’s decent.

It’s just not the best product it could have been.
But its biggest value is as a gateway to get better content in the future.
Right now we’re getting an after thought, and a cautious approach, but If this sell well then maybe they’ll see a reason to make full investment for a proper port instead of a low risk move and then we’ll get the best version out there.

I definitely agree with all of that, but feel that they won’t see the sales were hoping for with this just from reputation which may even hurt the next one.

Aside from that, I just don’t want to reward an inexcusably botched release between the launch issues (on all hardware), baiting us into preorders with bonuses and a release which isn’t what everyone expects by default… An improved version of the one on the most powerful console (even if the only difference is a few menus).

It isn’t even a slightly flawed version of that with some fullscreen or minor menu issues for fans to sort out a few days before they do it.

What a piece of shit company Team Ninja/Tecmo Koei has become.

They’re so full of shit from all the DLCs they’ve been selling that they’re even pulling the same crap for PC from last gen consoles. Hope they bomb this PC release.

They’ll probably pull this exact same tactics for Bladestorm on PC.

I feel like this company is becoming the new Capcom of this gaming generation.

I’ll definitely need a good tech review for me to justify this purchase. Maybe I’m not that mindful that it won’t get the improved breast bounce, as long as it does BOUNCE, but no online play and the erratic system requirements make me seriously question its integrity.

Good thing I haven’t preordered yet.

After playing the DoA demo on PS3 and picking up a used copy of the 3DS game I was pretty excited to get this, but after looking more into it and hearing stuff like this, I no longer am (until it’s $10 on sale at least).

Team Ninja now comes across as a less powerful, Japanese version of EA. A few years ago, they apparently used legal threats to destroy a fan community dedicated to modding their games; now they delay the PC version (probably to encourage double-dipping and/or work on some anti-mod DRM), launch it without online mode, threaten the fans with not releasing another if they mod it and wait until now to say that it’s going to be the last gen version (after accepting pre-order money all this time). And of course, it’s still gonna have several hundred dollars of DLC. Also, for all we know; the net-code could be garage, it could have some horrible DRM, it’s probably gonna be the usual terrible Japanese PC port and who knows what else.

If this game has a VAC protection and it’s not moddable, you know absolutely NO ONE will buy or play this especially after all this BS.

The online will be dead in 3 month. Oh yeah, no online for 3 month, so by the time the online comes, there will be no one left.

Yeah, I think they’re doing this on purpose. The game producer has the guts and asked us to “behave” when it comes to mods, but then they downgraded this version and made it last gen as means to discourage us making them for this game (even though it will happen eventually, but not that we’re doing nude mods for the girl if it´s that’s what Team Ninja is thinking).

I was hoping at least for this version to look as good as the PS4… but now it was more easy for me to decide which fighting game to buy on Steam: Don’t buy this game on PC. I’ll buy MKX Premium instead.

You know, I did pre-order this, and yeah, I will consider Tecmo/Koei a dead company for me if they don’t fix this. But let’s be realistic, this will not be fixed at all. So yeah, T/K had a simple job, and had a whole new market to gain if they did this simple thing right, but it will not be the case. Frankly, a company that decides it’s for the best of her brand to intentionally release an inferior product on a capable platform really show they have little to no respect towards their consumer base. And hey, it’s the same for Capcom and that stupid decision to remove features from Resident Evil on PCs.

Releasing a fighting game with no online multiplayer for 3 months means that the game will be dead before it matters. People will play it, get bored of the AI being easy and then forget it exists within a week.

Dead or Alive? More like Dead on Arrival.
