Today’s Niche Spotlight is coming from indie developer SunSpear Games, who have been working on IMMORTAL: Gates of Pyre, a bold new competitive real-time strategy game.
IMMORTAL: Gates of Pyre promises intense or casual battles with easy-to-learn yet hard-to-master gameplay, set in a stylish world filled with immortal mythology and distinct factions and races.
The game includes three specific and unique factions each with their own lore, style, and units – including: the Angelic Empire of Q’rath, the Aru Matriarchy, or the Iron Republic of Jora.
Hero units in the game are naturally called Immortals and each has their own unique abilities, both active and passive, like Mala’s “Mother’s Hunger” passive or Orzum’s “Summon Citadel” active ability.

The Gates of Pyre have laid dormant for eons, but prophecy tells of an age when that will change. With the sudden opening of these mysterious Gates, nations will rush to control them and their ancient secrets. Led by Immortals, godlike beings with earth-shattering power and fed by the God-Star Pyre, the epic war for the Gates is about to begin.
As the time of the Gates’ prophesied opening approaches, you will embody the Immortal of your choosing and harness their power, using complex strategies to lead your armies to glorious victory . . . or disgraceful defeat.
Playing as the Angelic Empire of Q’rath, the Aru Matriarchy or the Iron Republic of Jora, the history of the worlds surrounding the God-Star Pyre is still being written. But it is Immortals like you, who are at the heart of the saga.
