New Witcher game won't be Epic Games Store exclusive

Hot on the heels of its reveal this morning, CD Projekt confirmed the new Witcher game won’t be Epic Games Store exclusive.

News that the new Witcher game won’t be Epic Games Store exclusive comes via their official Twitter, which assuaged fans this will not be the case.

“We are not planning on making the game exclusive to one storefront,” the company said in their response to a fan saying they refuse to buy the game on Epic’s store.

To recap, the new Witcher game is being made in Unreal Engine 5 as a “multi-year strategic partnership” with Epic Games, so fans immediately speculated it would be exclusive to Epic’s store.

CD Projekt has their own digital store, GOG, and they typically release their stuff on Steam simultaneously anyway.

The last main game in the series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has been available for Windows PC (via GOGOrigin, and Steam), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can read our review for the base game here. The game’s next-gen upgrades were also delayed to Q2 2022.
