New Horizon: Zero Dawn Trailers Introduce the Snapmaw and Thunderjaw Beasties

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games have shared two new trailers for Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Featured below, the first two new trailers in an ongoing series introduce two of the game’s mechanical beasties you can hunt and kill: Snapmaw and Thunderjaw.

An acquisition-class machine, the Snapmaw is frequently found basking in or near bodies of water, where it gathers valuable minerals from the sediment. It can move with surprising ferocity when alerted, lashing out with an array of melee attacks that include powerful lunge bites and tail swipes. For ranged attacks, it fires off cryo mortars that freeze the target on impact.

The combat-class Thunderjaw is one of the deadliest machines encountered in Horizon Zero Dawn. A formidable beast equipped with cannons, disc launchers and a mouth laser, its powerful ranged attacks will quickly cut down any hunter foolish enough to alert it. Space permitting, it can also unleash with a devastating range of melee attacks such as charges and tail swipes.

If there is a good variety of creatures like this with different strengths/weaknesses this may turn out to be a good game.

I’ll see how it turns out. Horizon will be the game I get in the beginning of March.

Nioh isn’t my cup of tea (not a fan of Dark Souls like games) and I didn’t really like what I saw in the demo of Nier.

    26+ Robotic creatures..
    Real Humans – different tribes
Real Animals for food and shit
A world as big as skyrim packed with content.

So yes buddy this game will be an Amazing game..

On amazon ever since this 2 trailers came out.. Horizon zero dawn went from an 8 to a 6.. This is due to the mass confusion most of the casuals have that clearly have no idea what this game has to offer.. While smart people like myself already know we have a masterpiece at our disposal.

I read every single article and saw literally every gameplay.. Including leaks.

I did like Far Cry 3. I haven’t played any of the recent ones.

I have no problem with unlimited dodge moves – it’s a feature in hack and slash games, which I’m a fan of.

I don’t mind robot dinosaurs being bullet sponges as long as there is a smart way to take them down like in the above videos.

You sound like you’re over hyping it. Especially after having seen the poor animations and VA work. Are you a marketer?

    Map Size..

Everything I mentioned is in fact in the game?? Keep in mind there is a huge number of casual that still think this is a ROBOT DINO game.. Nothing else by Dinosaur robots.. It’s my job to inform them.. Yes, Sony does pay me. I get paid for being their Loyal fan who helps the hopeless. :)
