A curious new leak is pointing towards a new Super Mario-themed crossover for the Nintendo Switch.
The new artwork was leaked via a few websites (thanks Nintendo World Report), revealing the crossover RPG Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle for the Nintendo Switch.
Here’s some presentation slides:
We’re expecting a reveal during this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, which runs from June 13th to the 15th.

May 24, 2017 at 3:42 pmThere is so much cancer in those images I don’t know where to start. Also…
>Making a Rabbids crossover instead of a Rayman crossover
>Still not making a proper Mario and Sonic crossover that isn’t Olympic minigames shit
>Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
Why does Nintendo do the opposite of good crossover ideas?
Mr0303
May 24, 2017 at 3:43 pmHow about a new Rayman game?

May 24, 2017 at 3:56 pmHave you seen the bad decisions Nintendo have made for the past two years ? This is just one of many. They really do hate money.

May 24, 2017 at 3:57 pmI was about to ask about what the big deal is here but then I looked at the images. Please tell me they are not adding leftist horseshit in a freaking Mario game.
Uncle Ocelot
May 24, 2017 at 3:59 pmIt’d be cool to see another 3D Rayman, maybe a revival of the original Raving Rabbids concept. As long as Michel Ancel is involved anyway, Rayman 3 was good but I can’t trust modern Ubisoft to do anything good with the franchise without him. We actually did get a new Rayman about a year ago but it was an Apple TV game and 90% reused Legends assets.

May 24, 2017 at 4:09 pmRabbids are a plague that just won’t die. And it’s spreading.

May 24, 2017 at 4:20 pmTo coax Ubisoft into not ditching them again.
Uncle Ocelot
May 24, 2017 at 4:21 pmJust when they began to fade away, the Minions came along and beat Ubisoft at their own game. Now they’re desperately trying to make them relevant again; first with a TV show and upcoming movie and now with leeching off of perhaps the most well known video game franchise. It just won’t end.
Uncle Ocelot
May 24, 2017 at 4:22 pmIt’s Ubisoft, of course they would.
NukeA6
May 24, 2017 at 4:46 pmMakes perfect sense now.
Matz
May 24, 2017 at 4:47 pmThe funniest thing about all this, it’s that is obvious that they’re targeting kids, but I believe that kids will believe that Nintendo is copying the Minions even though the Rabbids came first
Matz
May 24, 2017 at 4:48 pmHow about making a RPG featuring characters from Mario and Rayman instead of a game featuring only Mario Characters and fucking Rabbids dressed as Mario Characters?

May 24, 2017 at 6:47 pm“first with a TV show”
I never heard of this. Is it a CG show like, say, that Sonic one? And is it crap?

May 24, 2017 at 7:04 pmI won’t completely write this off, but those rabbids are really bumming me out, man. Especially that one cosplaying as Princess Peach and taking a selfie.
Simply horrifying.

May 24, 2017 at 7:51 pmBtw humor and self mockery are pretty much the entire point of the mario and luigi games, how can these guys be so goddamn blind to their own shit
The word epic, hashtags, forced tough girl attitude, the fuckin minions, guns, its the perfect storm
Josh
May 24, 2017 at 9:10 pmJokes about hashtags and selfies and “muh empowerment” have no place in Mario games.
I hope this crashes and burns.

May 24, 2017 at 10:35 pmIt is indeed pretty crap

Na JK I’ll probably never buy a Switch.

May 25, 2017 at 12:12 amThis is supposed to be an RPG? This is okay but paper mario still can’t be an rpg? I just don’t understand.
Personaknight
May 25, 2017 at 12:32 amI thought we were done with these things after they got a cartoon. One thing about Mario I enjoyed is that we didn’t have this type oftoy story alien/minion/rascal characters. Well, maybe Toad or the koopalings, but I’m gonna go with my sonic argument as in nothing exists after voice acting/voice sfx were introduced into the series.
Magnifico Ginormous
May 25, 2017 at 2:16 amI thought the Rabbids were bad before but holy shit they’re gaming aids now!
braneman
May 25, 2017 at 3:19 amI don’t think they’re cancerous, just annoying, but seeing Nintendo approve this and shut down something like… AM2R that hurts man. No new Metroid, and I know people may be tired of the whining at this point but with all their neglected franchises and their continual courting of scalpers this just feels like a slap in the face.

May 25, 2017 at 4:50 amJust goes to show Mario/Minions crossover would’ve probably been a better idea.

May 25, 2017 at 7:39 amThe best idea would be a Minons/Rabbids/Woodchipper crossover

May 25, 2017 at 11:37 amSo is there a part of the world where Rabbids are really fucking popular? This has to just be a move to throw a certain territory a bone, like France, I’m assuming.
Crizzyeyes
May 25, 2017 at 1:46 pmAnyone else bothered by the fact that this is Mario with Guns? Or has that ship sailed and I’ve merely forgotten?
Zen
May 25, 2017 at 4:29 pmIf this really is a SRPG, I hope it sells like shit and fails.
Who the fuck is the audience for this? Anyone who actually would have played a Mario SRPG isn’t going to touch anything with Rabbids in it with a 50 ft. pole, and the kiddies who would play Rabbids games don’t give a shit about tactical RPGs.
Also, what the hell is that timeline? “Convince media/gamers”? Unless you can remove everything Rabbid related, good luck Nintendo. I don’t care how interesting an Xcom-inspired Mario game would be, you fucked up the minute you thought putting those stupid franchise-killing animals in was a good thing.
Glyth
May 25, 2017 at 4:45 pmRabbits are just minions but French. I don’t care for this game.

May 25, 2017 at 6:07 pmRayman just keeps getting screwed over, huh?

May 26, 2017 at 9:49 pmRabbids>Rayman (Rayman series is overrated as hell).
Putting that aside, I don’t like the fact that it will developed by Ubisoft instead of Nintendo.
