Keiichi Arawi’s Nichijou Manga Returns, October 26

Nichijou Returns

Kadokawa have announced Keiichi Arawi’s slice-of-life surreal comedy manga Nichijou returns on October 26th.

Comic Natalie reports (translation: DeepL), it will return in the December issue of Monthly Shonen Ace (on sale October 26th); where the original manga ran from December 2006 to December 2015. Arawai’s next work had been announced in the previous issue, but the name had not been revealed at that time.

Arawi also took to Twitter, sharing a drawing and simply stating “I felt like drawing, so I’m going to start serializing Nichijou.”

The series, which translates into “Ordinary Life” in English, follows the anything-but-ordinary school life of Yuko Aioi, Mio Naganohara, Mai Minakami, and the other students and people of Tokisadame. While strange and hilarious antics happen to the girls, there is also the android Nano Shinonome, the eight-year old genius Professor, their talking cat Sakamoto, and more.

The series ran as an anime in 2011 by Kyoto Animation. Whether this revived manga will see a new animated series is something only time can tell.
