Nintendo has announced that Japanese Wii U owners will soon be able to buy things off the eShop via NFC cards being vigorously and excitedly flapped around the system’s GamePad tablet.

The service will kick off on July 2nd, and it will function via Sucia rechargeable smart cards (pictured above), which are usually used to pay train commuting fares in the country. All you’ll have to do is tap the lower left hand corner of the GamePad, and it will add funds to your account, instead of having to input boring old credit card information.

This feature has not been confirmed for the west, but Nintendo is also planning to bring out lots of NFC figurines, which function similarly with the GamePad.
