Hulu Announces Gaming Experience to Promote History of the World Part II

Popular streaming service Hulu, in partnership with the newest project from the mind of the legendary Mel Brooks, has released an interactive experience to get fans appetite ready for the long awaited sequel to the 1981 classic comedy History of the World, Part I. In this interactive experience, fans will be able to play a few different browser based arcade games that contain both the likeness and voices of comedians Wanda Sykes, Ike Barinholtz, and Nick Kroll who each star in segments featured in 8-part episodic release of History of the World, Part II.

Try your luck in the History of the World, Part II arcade by catching falling dogs in Noah’s dog pArk, dodging objects as you test the limits of gravity in Galileo Galil-ay!, climbing Kublai Khan’s family tree, or taking it to streets in a cute little Street Fighter style juggle battle with Big Boss Battle.

This interactive experience takes about 20 minutes to complete, leading you from the events of The Big Burp, through the Stoned Age, and seamlessly dropping you between the games as you progress the story, all leading up to reminding you that you can now stream History of the World, Part II, exclusively on Hulu right now! None of the games are difficult, most simply involve moving back and forth or simply pressing a button or tapping the screen, but attempt was made and that’s a step in the right direction for games and our importance in Entertainment.

From the press release:

Mel Brooks’ History of the World, Part I has influenced comedic cinema for 40 plus years and the cult 80s movie is finally getting an interactive gaming experience with its sequel, which both debuted on March 6.

History of the World, Part II launched a new eight-episode series on Hulu, and an interactive digital gaming experience available to play online and on Xbox. In the digital gaming experience, fans encounter the show’s colorful characters voiced by the star-studded cast with Ike Barinholtz, Nick Kroll, Wanda Sykes, and of course, the formidable Mel Brooks. The show’s mastermind is no stranger to video games, as Brooks has been involved with several previous gaming projects.

The interactive website version of the History of the World, Part II gaming experience embraces the crass humor and absurd silliness of the show (and makes no apologies) for an unforgettable, unique experience with plenty of memorable features like the fact that the world didn’t begin with a ‘big bang’ – it was actually ‘The Big Burp.’ Players will feel like they’re part of the show as they experience various historical recreations, from Amelia Earhart to Noah’s Dog Park, and more.

The History of the World, Part II digital gaming experience will be available to download FREE on Xbox from March 6 – 31, 2023, and for desktop and mobile play from March 6 until July 6, 2023.

The gaming experience will be demonstrated live during the week of March 6, as well-known gaming streamers experience the game live on Twitch. The game’s developers also have plans for an Xbox giveaway and there will be more historically hilarious surprises.
