Genshin Impact now has a cooking show

Genshin Impact

HoYoverse have expanded Genshin Impact yet again, this time with a cooking show spin-off on YouTube.

Seemingly not content with just a Genshin Impact anime series, HoYoverse looks to be expanding the popular gacha RPG’s influence with a cooking show. The title of this new video to appear on the Genshin Impact YouTube channel certainly implies it will be the first of many episodes showing a skilled chef recreating the game’s many, many dishes.

The first one to get a video is Slow-Cooked Bamboo Shoot Soup, a dish with a long legacy of cultural heritage in the game’s Chinese-inspired Liyue region. In the game, this is the signature dish of Zhongli, and restores 34% of a character’s max health, with an additional 980 health regenerated every 5 seconds for the next 30 seconds.

The cooking video is filmed on a set full of props inspired by furniture from the game, with Liyue music playing in the background. It also features the game’s signature cutscene animations. It’s certainly implied that the chef is meant to represent Smiley Yanxiao, the cook at Wangshu Inn that appears in multiple quests and commissions.

Wangshu Inn is also the location where players can acquire the recipe in-game, and the backgrounds in the video definitely look like the inn itself.

Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store and official website), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our Genshin Impact review here (we recommend it!).
