Games Workshop halted sales in Russia

We’ve learned Games Workshop halted sales in Russia over their invasion and ongoing war in Ukraine.

The UK-based company is mostly known for their popular Warhammer franchise, which includes both tabletop games and products, as well as numerous licensed games based on the Warhammer IP.

“We are terribly saddened by the horrific events taking place in Ukraine,” the new statement reads. “Our heartfelt thoughts go out to all those affected by Russia’s actions.”

They added, “We didn’t take this decision lightly. We know that there are many Russian hobbyists who don’t condone the war. Yet, we must stand with those suffering.”

News that Games Workshop halted sales in Russia comes not long after many other tech and gaming companies have all cut off sales and services to the country.

Major Payment processors cut off services to the country, as well as numerous gaming companies like Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, Epic Games, Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard halted sales in Russia, and Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED halted their sales in Russia.
