FINALLY! GAMEPLAY! Okay so we DO have sick dashes, no sign of air dashing but I expect it. Interesting that the girls keep their melee moves. Not 100% sure what the card system duck thing is, but I hope the VR mode is more than just that (really hoping to play the main game in VR).

    Mostly looking good!

that’s something they could pull off, they’ve already gotten very close to it with the increasing levels of character customization

Why create a character? The characters themselves are already great, and boast great personalities. Better thing imho tbqh would be limb-by-limb clothing changes, instead of a whole costume.

Looks awesome. I like the fact that there is still melee combat. The movement seems fast and there are jet packs. The duck teasing is pretty funny.

Not sure what the cards were all about. Could be just collectibles or they may have some stats effects. Very hyped for the game overall.

what you on bro? Estival Versus was a huge improvement over SV (which I liked) this will probably be interesting too. In this short trailer they already showed some interesting features, such as still keeping Physical hand-to-hand attacks despite the focus on TPS, and that WaterDash for quicker movement.

They seem to be taking inspiration from Splatoon here.

    December 9, 2016 at 11:56 am

No way. Character movement in EV is way clunkier than in SV. SV also had spots where the plot and character arcs were still pretty good. Even the openings in these last couple of games are shit. Remember the cool anime-esque openings in the three 3DS games and SV? Now it’s nothing but girls prancing around in bikinis.

SK used to be good because it was a balance of fanservice, fun gameplay, and decent character/narrative elements. Now it’s losing that balance.

And colorful shooters with wacky weapons have been around for a while. The gameplay appears to be nothing like Splatoon, either.

  50. GamesGoodMeGood
    December 9, 2016 at 11:58 am

    Yeah, it’s great isn’t it?

Maybe you can tell your friends in your feminist circles that female characters being slim, revealing a bit of skin and being physically appealing to men does not equate to sexism or misogyny

  51. Ckarasu
    December 9, 2016 at 2:14 pm

I don’t attend any feminist circles, bro. But I do think you’re right.

I don’t think you, or most people at Nichegamer, have any idea how to deal with moderates. It’s quite funny.

  52. Ckarasu
    December 9, 2016 at 3:18 pm

That’s incredibly inept. Like, whoever wrote that has no idea how to argue and has an incredibly strong bias(there’s no arguing that). Moderates have no standard, as “being in the middle” can mean that they accept different ideas from both sides in any combination. Or the writer is some paranoid loon that believes all the other sides are out to get the GamerGate crowd.

All a moderate consists of is someone who doesn’t believe in extremes, really. This can be someone who sides somewhat with GamerGate, but finds that the movement is too extreme for them. Same with Anti-GamerGate leaning moderates, as well. There are also those who don’t like either crowd at all.

Come back with a better example. Preferably from someone who actually knows what a moderate is.

  53. GamesGoodMeGood
    December 9, 2016 at 4:16 pm

What exactly do you Moderates want? You keep saying you’re in the “middle” and “oh let’s accept both sides and be happy”, but you constantly fail to see the elephant in the room, and this elephant is the fact that both side’s beliefs are incompatible.

    – GG does not want any censorship in video games.

    – SJWs want censorship in video games.

There’s no in-between. Either you’re for censorship or you’re not. If you start listening to and accepting SJW ideas, that means you’re for censorship. Because SJW/feminist ideas are ALWAYS based on censoring material.

    Do you not see this?

  54. Ckarasu
    December 9, 2016 at 4:37 pm

That’s obviously over simplified. Some moderates lean towards GG, but aren’t as dead set. Same with the moderates that side with AGG, but aren’t as extreme. Moderates don’t all agree with each other, because we’re not all leaning on the same side of the fence(and few are sitting perfectly in the middle).

Me, personally? I prefer to advocate for games where there are well written male and/or female characters. Some diversity is good, and LGBT representation should be encouraged. But “encouraged” is as far as that should go. No one should be punished for making a game that fits their own ideology, save for the obviously illegal stuff. Every game maker has their target audience, and if you’re not a part of that, then simply don’t buy it. Also, the games I buy are ones that actually play well. Censorship is dumb in most cases(save for the previously mentioned illegal stuff like child porn deserving censorship). I don’t feel as strongly about it as most people in here, though. I don’t get angry or anything, as I just don’t buy the game if it’s that bad.

I don’t side with GamerGate because I don’t agree with everything they say, or feel quite as strongly in the ones I do agree with. And GamerGate does talk about more than censorship, in my experience. I don’t quite like how gender neutral pronouns sound, but I don’t get upset about their use if the author decides to use them(talking about the original script using them, not translation changes). GamerGaters I’ve seen comment about them get riled up and mock their use, and I just don’t feel that strongly about that. That’s just one example.

Also, I prefer not to follow under labels in general, as large followings can’t be controlled well(there are definitely asshole GamerGaters out there) because of their size. That’s how feminism turned into a buzzword that some idiots followed after it got mainstream attention. Now we have loons thinking that women can’t be sexist, rape is only possible if a male does it, and other absurd stupidity. Not every feminist is like that, granted, but there are too many that are.

I prefer to group with even tempered people who don’t get upset at little things like pronouns and stuff. I’m just not like that, and a lot of GamerGaters I come across are(though I’m sure there are some even tempered people in that group). I agree with the “SJW” idea that diversity can be a good thing, but I don’t agree with their zeal or that people should be forced to be inclusive. I agree with GamerGate on the need to prevent censorship and allow free expression, but not too much else(and yes, there have been other ideals expressed by GamerGate followers).

Loli de 42 Anos - the Return
    December 9, 2016 at 5:39 pm

I agree in part, I think that the gameplay in EV, while slower than SV is more balanced for competition (I feel it’s more chalenging against bosses and that the parried and blocking are better integrated).

As for the story and Openings. I 100% agree (NONE can top the Opening for senran kagura 2 in my opinion. Which is also my favorite precisely for the plot). I much prefer a more edgy and serious plot like in SK2 than what we got in EV.
However, at the same time, I don’t think they’re planning to replace the serious tone of Deep Crimson with the more happy and goofy tone of EV and here’s why:
They are clearly building up to something, Like Kingdom Hearts chain of Memories was a set up for KH2, it feels to me that both Estival and Peach beach Splash are laying down the ground to what will be a Senran Kagura 3. Estival’s whole premise is that a Yoma unlike any other is about to be unleashed in the world in a near future and they have to get stronger. And now PBS is bringing Kagura and Naraku back into the story as well as introducing the New Wave characters. Another reason I strongly feel the serious tone will return in the next one is Takaki’s comment about why his favorite character is Kagura.

This is not like Paper Mario that completely abandoned what the series stood for and Flanderized it. This and and EV will probably end up being the calm before the storm.
