Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Death Stranding, his debut title since his departure from Konami, won’t be appearing at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
“Apologies to our fans, Death Stranding will not be @ E3 as we are fully focused on development. Pls see me with @geoffkeighley on 6/14!,” Kojima wrote on Twitter.
The most recent update for the game was in December of last year, where a new trailer was showcased. You can view that here.
We still don’t know too much about the game, however we do know whenever Death Stranding does release, it will be published on PlayStation 4.

June 7, 2017 at 11:18 amAt least it means the next trailer won’t be another teaser, probably.

June 7, 2017 at 12:13 pmWe are not missing anything, I bet there will be another five E3’s before this game is even released.

June 7, 2017 at 1:05 pmI’m actually glad – if you don’t have anything to show you shouldn’t waste any time from the conference.

June 7, 2017 at 1:07 pmKinda had enough of Kojima after I heard that he actually wanted to replace Hayter as Snakes english VA since long before the most recent game just so he could get a bigger name attached to it.

June 7, 2017 at 1:35 pmDissapointing, but not surprising.

June 7, 2017 at 2:52 pmThey didn’t have time to make another nonsense trailer.

June 7, 2017 at 3:21 pmA given. In fact, this is yet another case of announcing and showing a game YEARS before it was ever going to come out. Companies really need to stop doing that.

June 7, 2017 at 3:35 pmYou know it is starting to seem like Konami is shaping up. They are starting to show love for older franchises again. Maybe the problem was always Kojima. He sucked up so much of the companies money into unfinished projects that they could never do anything else.

June 7, 2017 at 3:49 pmI honestly doubt Kojima was the only reason, but his tendencies more than likely were a money drain.

June 7, 2017 at 4:28 pmNot surprising. Given it’s Kojima I wouldn’t be surprised if this game doesn’t launch until like 2019 or 2020.
That being said E3 is still gonna be shit.

June 7, 2017 at 4:33 pmWell, there could’ve been more to it than just that. I doubt they had a good relationship in the first place if that was the case.

June 7, 2017 at 5:00 pmSince he wanted to replace him on MGS3, I think he just didn’t wanted Big Boss and Solid Snake to sound the same.

June 7, 2017 at 7:29 pmWOW OH MY hold the phone here you mean the man obsessed with movies and hollywood wanted a big hollywood name attached to his games?
BaronKrause
June 7, 2017 at 7:31 pmYou make it sound like that excuses him from being a dbag.

June 7, 2017 at 7:33 pmBut didn’t the same VA do both in Japan?
LaserCatsAreAwesome
June 7, 2017 at 7:41 pmIt doesn’t it just makes him predictable but people still act surprised when he does things like that and act seriously burned by it.
LaserCatsAreAwesome
June 7, 2017 at 7:43 pmI wouldn’t be surprised if being the westaboo he is that he considers the English VA the focus and Japanese a afterthought.

June 7, 2017 at 7:53 pmThey weren’t even putting out smaller projects like a new 2D Castlevania but instead constantly wanted to have all their fingers in the AAA pie which they saw Kojima as being a huge part of which created endless conflicts, you can see what Konami ultimately wants when you look at their next Metal Gear, they don’t want a return to their glory days they want to be another Activison/EA/Ubisoft and put out generic trash for the lowest common denominator.

June 7, 2017 at 9:09 pmand the game suffered for it… The huge void in personality made it the least memorable mainline MGS game for me.
I’m kind of tired of Kojima and seeing his cadre of celebrity friends in embarrassingly pretentious cgi plays.

June 8, 2017 at 11:15 amI’m sorry, I loved Hayter, but Kefier Sutherland was great in MGS5.
