Death Stranding has sold over five million copies on both PC and PS4, developer Kojima Productions has announced.

It’s worth noting Death Stranding has sold over five million copies as of March 2021, where the game originally launched for PS4 back in 2019 and then later for PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store) in 2020.

In other recent news, Kojima Productions confirmed PlayStation 4 players can upgrade to Death Stranding: Director’s Cut Digital Deluxe Edition for $10 USD.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

Tomorrow Is In Your Hands

After the collapse of civilization, Sam Bridges must journey across a ravaged landscape crawling with otherworldly threats to save mankind from the brink of extinction. From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an all-new, genre-defying experience for the PlayStation 4 system.

Starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner.

A Journey to Reconnect a Fractured Society

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.

Death Stranding is available on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store, and Steam), and PlayStation 4. If you missed it, you can find our review here. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut launches September 24th on PlayStation 5.
