Atari publisher label Infogrames and developer SandCastles Studio have released a new update for Bread & Fred.

The new update brings with it a brand-new map, new mechanics, new NPCs, and even some hidden secrets. New console ports for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 were also revealed, and are coming “soon.”

Bread & Fred has been available on Microsoft Windows (through Steam) since 2023 and for Nintendo Switch (via the eShop) since 2024.

The Laboratory Update for Bread & Fred is here, doubling the game’s content with a brand-new 666-meter map filled with exciting new mechanics, NPCs, and hidden secrets.

• New Platforming Challenges – Master electronic, impulse, and rotating platforms that will push your coordination to the limit.
• Boss Room Challenge – Solve four timed puzzles before time runs out in an intense, all-new boss level.
• Secret Capybaras – Discover five hidden zones packed with puzzles and uncover the lost capybaras along the way.
• More Lore & NPCs – Explore new areas and meet quirky characters as you climb higher than ever before!
