Bandai Spirits just revealed a whole slew of new Gundam kits at the Shizuoka Hobby Show. The hobby show, set in the heart of modeling city Shizuoka, starts today through May 17th, and is one of the biggest in Japan.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of After War Gundam X, Bandai Spirits unveiled brand new molds for HG Gundam Leopard, HG Gundam Ashtaron, and HG Gundam Virsago from the series.
This is huge news for Gundam X fans because the last time Bandai made these kits was in 1996. Their molds and mechanics are outdated by today’s standards, and that is if you can even get your hands on one, since they are no longer in circulation anymore.
New injection molds mean Bandai is able to apply the plastic wizardry knowledge that they have accumulated throughout the years into these new kits. Just take a look at these pictures, the difference is night and day. (courtesy of dalong.net and Bandai Spirits)
