A recent Street Fighter V update has improved not just gameplay tweaks and bug fixes, but improved Sakura’s face on the character select screen.

As noted across Twitter and Reddit [1, 2, 3, as reported by EuroGamer] the new and improved face and stance appears much more accurate to her in-game model. Others have had similar criticism of Ken, where his in-game model and character select models seem almost entirely different.

In any case, the new model seems much more feminine and less “wild-eyed psychotic.” You can find the comparison (via @burnoutfighter) below.

As previously reported, Sakura first appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 2. Ryu’s number one fan returned with a new outlook on life; after graduating high school, she now works part-time at an arcade. Even so, she wonders what decisions she needs to make in order to be satisfied with her future.

Capcom had previously announced in 2017 they would fix the character faces for Capcom representatives in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. This came after much ridicule for the likes of Chun-Li and others.

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is available for Windows PC (via GamersGate, and Steam) and PlayStation 4.
