Dotemu Working to Resolve Streets of Rage 4 – Mr. X Nightmare DLC Nintendo Switch Purchase Issue

Streets of Rage 4 Mr. X Nightmare DLC

Dotemu are working to resolve issues preventing Nintendo Switch players from buying the Streets of Rage 4 – Mr. X Nightmare DLC.

While warning PlayStation users that they need to download the DLC from the same region as the main game; Dotemu also stated they were working to resolve players being unable to buy the DLC on Nintendo Switch.

“We are all hands on deck to remedy this issue for fans and will be posting updates on the ETA for when we anticipate the fix to be live,” Dotemu tweeted. “Currently, our best projections are that the fix will come in following days but beyond that, we are unable to give a more accurate timeframe. This is extremely unfortunate for fans of the game who’ve waited patiently for the DLC and we apologize unreservedly.”

Those with access to the DLC for review or promotional purposes are unaffected. A later update confirmed that Dotemu would need to “restart the validation process to get the fix live.”

While Nintendo Switch fans wait, the DLC’s soundtrack by Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, and the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Metal Slug Tactics) has been made available. You can listen to it now via Bandcamp, Spotify, and YouTube.

As previously reported, the DLC adds three new playable characters- Estel AguirreMax Thunder, and Shiva– and a new “Survival” mode. Battle through hordes of enemies, gaining upgrades to tweak their fighting style and unleash more insane combos thanks to special effects. Players will also gain access to new moves and weapons, and face-off against boss versions of playable characters.

Streets of Rage 4 is available for Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can find our review here (we recommend it!), along with our review for the Mr. X Nightmare DLC here (we recommend it!)
