PS4 Death Stranding Players Upgrade to Director’s Cut via Digital Deluxe Edition for $10

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut

Kojima Productions have confirmed PlayStation 4 players can upgrade to Death Stranding: Director’s Cut Digital Deluxe Edition for $10 USD.

As previously reported, the devastating Death Stranding breaks down the barriers between life and death; causing invisible creatures called the Beached Things to roam across the US. Causing devastating explosions called voidouts, and summoning a rain that rapidly ages whatever it touches, the nation quickly fell to ruin.

Now Sam Bridges acts as a porter, transporting supplies to what few fractured and divided US cities and survivors remain. However, some humans have gained the ability to control BTs, and the terrible powers that come with it. Can Sam help reunite the nation, or even survive?

The Director’s Cut features include new story missions, enemies, and combat abilities. Players will also have new ways to deliver goods, and even a new racing minigame called Fragile Circuit.

A post of PlayStation Blog also detailed how the game will add Friend Play, online leaderboards, and the promotional content inspired by Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077 that was previously only on Windows PC.

The Director’s Cut will also utilize environmental effects via the DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive trigger resistance, 3D audio via compatible headphones, and quicker load times. The game also has Performance Mode (for upscaled 4K resolution and up to 60 FPS), or Fidelity Mode in native 4K. Both of these modes will have ultra-wide and HDR support.

The post also confirms that PlayStation 4 save data can be transferred into the PlayStation 5 Director’s Cut version; and upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition for $10 USD (€10 EUR). An upgrade path to the standard edition was not detailed. The Digital Deluxe Edition features a mini soundtrack, a selection of art, an avatar set, and customization backpack patches, suits, and BB pods.
