Ninja Theory have revealed gameplay and a behind the scenes of Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga during the Xbox Games Showcase Extended.

Details are still scant at this stage, but the game will no doubt continue Senua’s struggle with not only those invading her home, but “the Furies;” voices in her head she has gradually come to terms with. The game will also tackle themes of mental health.

The new trailer shows not only the game, but behind the scenes development. “Chief Creative Ninja” Tameem Antoniades explained during how far the developers have gone. Artists and audio teams have been sent to Iceland to re-create the landscape in game, creating real costumes to be scanned in for characters, and collaborating with Epic Games for “next generation digital characters.”

Melina Juergens- the voice actress for Senua- and all animators have even undergone combat training for two years for mo-cap.
