Publisher Incube8 Games and development studio 7FH have announced Game Boy shmup Genesis pre-orders are now live, letting you order a real new game for the original Game Boy.

While most throwback or retro-style game releases like this are limited, Incube8 Games are offering Game Boy shmup Genesis pre-orders until June 7th. There’s a standard edition available for Genesis for $44.99/£32.35/€37.20 over on the official Incube8 Games site. If you pick the game up during its pre-order window, you’ll also get bonus promo stickers.

Genesis was developed using the open source toolkit GBDK. Genesis has players fighting through hordes of enemies to each a boss at the end of each level, with each level getting them closer to the core of Genesis. The Genesis cartridge is fully compatible with all Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance handhelds.

In Genesis, fight your way through hordes of enemies to reach the boss of each action packed level, defeat them to progress and get closer to the core of Genesis. Test your agility to dodge enemy fire and collect shield energy and power-ups from enemy remains.

Make your way through 4 action packed levels, shoot down enemy ships, collect power-ups and defeat the bosses to reach the main processor and stop GENESIS once and for all.
