MiHoYo have released a new teaser trailer showing off Ganyu, the next playable character coming to Genshin Impact.
Ganyu is one of two characters being released as part of the 1.2 update that went live in late December, with the other being Albedo. Ganyu is half human and half qilin, and serves as a secretary and adviser for Liyue’s Qixing.
She first appeared throughout the Liyue questline, and can be acquired in a new limited wish banner starting next week when the Albedo banner expires.
Ganyu is a 5-star Cryo bow user. Like all bow users, she can use a charged shot that applies elemental damage, and in Ganyu’s case, the second level of the charge deals AOE Cryo damage.
Her Elemental Skill causes Ganyu to dash backwards, dispelling negative effects and summoning an ice lotus that distracts enemies. When the lotus is destroyed, it deals Cryo damage. Her Elemental Burst creates a hailstorm of ice, dealing Cryo damage over a wide area.

Meanwhile, Genshin Impact‘s next limited time event, Lost Riches, starts on January 8th and runs through the 18th. During this event, players can use a special treasure-seeking Seelie to find buried coins that can be traded in for limited items, Primogems, and other rewards. You can learn more here.
Genshin Impact is available on Windows PC (via the official website), PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
