Netflix is Raising Subscription Prices Again

Netflix announced (via Variety) they’re raising the subscription rates again for their customers in the United States.

Their standard HD plan will go up from $12.99 to $13.99, while their 4K Premium plan is going up from $15.99 to $17.99. Their SD plan is staying at its current $8.99 a month price.

While new subscribers will have to pay the new price, the price will increase over the next few months for existing subscribers. An email will be sent out to all subscribers notifying them of the price change, and a notification will appear in the Netflix app 30 days before the price takes effect. The last price hike from Netflix was in January of 2019.

“We understand people have more entertainment choices than ever and we’re committed to delivering an even better experience for our members,” a Netflix representative said in a statement. “We’re updating our prices so that we can continue to offer more variety of TV shows and films — in addition to our great fall lineup. As always we offer a range of plans so that people can pick a price that works best for their budget.”

Netflix has been on a roll lately with tons of new adaptations for video games, including a new Assassin’s Creed live-action series, a new Resident Evil CG series, a Dragon’s Dogma animated series, and much more.
