Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition Digital Pre-Orders Now Live, No Ray Tracing on Xbox Series S, Vergil DLC Launches December 15

Capcom have announced that digiral pre-orders are now available for Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, that the game will not support ray tracing on Xbox Series S, and the release date for the Vergil DLC on the original game.

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will be available launches November 10th worldwide on Xbox Series X, for PlayStation 5 on November 12th in the US and Japan, and November 19th in the rest of the world. A physical edition will launch for both consoles December 1st


While it was previously announced the Vergil DLC would be coming to the original Devil May Cry 5, a release date was not announced at that time. Devil May Cry 5 is available for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Now, Capcom have released new information about the game and DLC. Digital pre-orders for Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition are available now, and those who pre-order the Special Edition by November 18th will get 100,000 Red Orbs for free.

The Vergil DLC for the original game was also announced to be launching December 15th for $4.99 USD, as well as €4.99 EUR and £3.99 GBP where applicable.

While Capcom vice president of digital platforms and marketing William Yagi-Bacon had previously revealed the Special Edition’s performance options, Capcom have now confirmed the game will not support ray tracing on Xbox Series S- Microsoft’s next-gen digital-only console. This detail was also shared directly to Twitter.

“We’re excited to bring Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition to Xbox Series X|S with high frame rates up to 120 fps, enhanced 3D audio, reduced loading times, the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, Turbo Mode and playable Vergil on both consoles.

Fans playing Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition on Xbox Series X will also experience the game in 4k resolution and with Direct X Ray Tracing. Both consoles deliver amazing next generation speed and performance, and while we are just now scratching the surface of what they can do our teams are eager to continue exploring the full capabilities of Xbox Series X|S in the future.

While ray tracing will be available as a downloadable title update on Xbox Series X, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will not support ray tracing on Xbox Series S.”
