Aquanox Deep Descent Launches October 16

Aquanox Deep Descent

THQ Nordic and Digital Arrow have announced the release date for their first-person submarine combat game, Aquanox Deep Descent.

Aquanox Deep Descent is both a reboot and prequel set before the events of the original game from 2001. It was Kickstarted back in 2015, though news regarding the game’s development has been rather sparse over the last few years.

As with the old games in the series, Aquanox Deep Descent takes players to the unforgiving depths of Aqua. What remains of humanity lives in converted underwater research and mining stations after the Earth’s surface has become uninhabitable. Rival factions fight for control of dwindling resources in heavily armed combat submarines.

Aquanox Deep Descent‘s campaign can be played entirely in co-op, with drop-in, drop-out multiplayer for up to four players. The game also features competitive multiplayer in the form of Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes.

You can find a new cinematic trailer below.

You can find a rundown of the game (via Steam) below:

Aquanox Deep Descent is a first person underwater vehicle shooter, in which players control a variety of customizable ships to engage in fierce battles in the dystopian deep sea world of Aqua.

In the near future the Earth’s surface has become uninhabitable. What remains of humankind lives in former mining and research stations, deep below the surface of the sea. Born and raised in the only world we know, the loose network of underwater settlements, torn by the war for resources and dominance between various factions.

Send your enemies down to Davy Jones’ Locker with well-aimed torpedoes, shrapnel blasts, mines and more in a journey that takes you across the world’s oceans and into the deepest trenches of our Earth.
