Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition Runs from October 7 to October 13

Video Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley has announced that Steam will be hosting a Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition.

Steam ran the first Steam Game Festival in Spring 2020 and then Summer 2020, allowing players to play timed exclusive demos for upcoming games. Now, the “Autumn Edition” has been announced.

Keighley has tweeted “Valve is planning another Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition this Fall, running October 7 – 13. Another chance to play free previews of upcoming games.” The announcement itself has not been formally made by Valve as of this time of writing.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic (also known as COVID-19 officially, or Chinese Flu to others) has affected many worldwide, from businesses to public gatherings and events.

This includes postponements of GDC, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the physical events for EVO 2020 and Tokyo Game Show 2020, and cancellations E3 2020 (including digital events), BlizzCon 2020, the physical event for Gamescom 2020Comiket 98, and MAGStock 2020.

While many other events had sprung up in their place- usually digital press conferences- after the original dates of E3 2020, we have seen even more events than in prior years. While more digital events mean more developers can show their games, the Steam Game Festival helps act as a surrogate to playing demos at conventions.

Once again, the Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition begins October 7th, and runs until October 13th.
