Fallout 76 Free to Existing Bethesda Players on Steam, Via Linked Accounts Prior to April 13

Bethesda have announced that players of Fallout 76 via the official Bethesda launcher on Windows PC will be able to get the game free on Steam by linking their accounts- prior to April 13th.

After initially stating the Wastelanders update was delayed to April 14th (and the game in its entirety on Steam), Bethesda have now announced that those who already own the game on Windows PC (via Bethesda) can get the game for free on Steam.

“When Fallout 76’s Wastelanders expansion launches on April 14, the entire game (including Wastelanders) will also be launching on Steam. Of course, many of our PC fans who have played the game through the Bethesda.net Launcher would also like to have the option to play on Steam, so we have a special offer just for you. From now through 11:59pm ET, April 12, if you have already purchased Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net, you have the opportunity to get the game on Steam, including Wastelanders.”

Via this link, players can link their Bethesda account to their Steam account to automatically recieve the game on Steam when it launches on the platform.

However, while game progress does carry between the two versions, “Atoms and Fallout 1st membership entitlements are the only parts which are not integrated due to technical limitations.”

Atoms cannot be transferred from Bethesda accounts to Steam accounts, but purchased items can. “We recommend spending your Atoms prior to switching launchers,” Bethesda states.

The game will support crossplay between players on Bethesda, and Steam.

You can find the full rundown on the game (via Bethesda) below.
