Nintendo have announced the details and dates of the Bunny Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. 

During a stealthily released Nintendo Direct Mini today, the details of the first seasonal event were revealed.


As detailed in the trailer and on the Nintendo of America Twitter account, April 1st to 12th will be Bunny Day (an approximation of Easter). Players can find hidden eggs for Zipper the rabbit, which can be used to craft special items and decorations.

A later tweet also clarifies “while the Nintendo Direct Mini presentation mentions a ‘Ver.1.1.0 Update’ for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will need to connect to the internet and download the latest update data on 4/1 to enjoy the Bunny Day event.” 

Another free update in late April will be for the Earth Day event.

The Nintendo Direct Mini does mention in its introduction, that due to the coronavirus (officially known as COVID-19, or Chinese Flu to some) that some dates and information may be subject to change.

In case you missed it, Animal Crossing: New Horizons sold over 1.8 million physical copies in Japan during its first three days on sale- making it the most successful opening week for a Nintendo Switch game.
