Netflix has announced they’re bringing the Level-5 and Olm, Inc. produced anime film based on Ni no Kuni to western audiences.

The new anime film will premiere on January 16th via Netflix. In case you missed it, you can find a trailer for the movie here in our previous report.

As the movie is not directly based on the video game series, it features an original story focused on the protagonists Yuu, Haru, and Kotona, three high schoolers that get wrapped up in a story that spans both the real world and the fantasy world of Ni no Kuni.

In related news, another listing for the Dragon Quest: Your Story CG animated film was spotted on Netflix, meaning the distributor is likely set to reveal a western premiere for that film soon.
