A new report (via the LA Times) has confirmed Riot Games have settled their ongoing gender discrimination lawsuit.

The lawsuit, which originally started in 2018, alleged that systemic discrimination had been occurring at the company and that Riot Games violated the California Equal Pay act.

The lawsuit, which Riot settled back in August of this year, will have the company pay out from a $10 million fund to roughly 1,000 women that have been employed at the company, since November 2014.

The amount of pay will be determined by each female employee’s status and tenure at the company. The plaintiffs and Riot have both agreed to the proposed terms, however the settlement needs to be approved by the court.

“We’re pleased to have a proposed settlement to fully resolve the class action lawsuit,” Riot said. “The settlement is another important step forward, and demonstrates our commitment to living up to our values and to making Riot an inclusive environment for the industry’s best talent.”
