Way of the Samurai Spinoff ARPG Katanakami Announced for PC, PS4, and Switch

Publisher Spike Chunsoft and developer Acquire announced Katanakami.

The new Way of the Samurai series spin-off action RPG with a focus on swordplay is coming to Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch via retail and digital storefronts in Japan sometime in early 2020. Featured above, you can view a teaser trailer for the game.

The game follows a samurai as he travels to a forbidden realm to save the kidnapped daughter of a blacksmith – as reparations for his debt. The swordplay will feel more like a hack and slash RPG in comparison to the Way of the Samurai series. Dungeons are randomly generated, so you can always experience something new.

The game plays differently if you play during the day or at night – at day you can make and sell swords as a blacksmith, and at night you can enter another world through a portal to fight enemies, gather weapons and materials, and so on. Characters from the Way of the Samurai series will appear.

Lastly, you can visit the game’s official website here.
