Bethesda: Switch is “Not Powerful Enough” for Elder Scrolls Online

While the running-gag of demanding everything get a Nintendo Switch port is still going, Bethesda was recently asked for a Switch port for The Elder Scrolls Online. As the MMORPG is somewhat demanding, it’s not a shock the publisher won’t do a Switch port – but they are porting it elsewhere.

The long-running MMO is coming to Google’s Stadia streaming platform – news confirmed at this year’s Gamescom expo. A Switch port isn’t in the cards though, as it simply does not have the prowess to handle the game.

“We have thought about Switch but ESO is an enormous game, and it just will not work… I would love for it to because I love Switch. It is one of the largest games ever made, and it just will not fit on Switch,” Elder Scrolls Online game director Matt Firor said to Twinfinite.

He added, “Not going to happen. The only way it’d work is if there was some kind of streaming service on Switch. It’s just not powerful enough.”

The Elder Scrolls Online is currently available across Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
