The lengths religious practitioners will go to convert new followers really has no bounds – one Christian pastor has begun holding church service in VRChat, and even offers baptisms too.

YouTuber Syrmor did a video where he interviewed Pastor D.J. Soto, the real life pastor that has been attempting to convert the heathens that dwell on the internet, and most especially in online video games.

In the video, Soto describes his new venture, saving and preaching in the online VR platform, no matter how ridiculous a person’s avatar is.

Here’s the baptism:

Fellow YouTuber Drumsy was receiving the baptism, but in the avatar of a large-breasted, pink-haired anime woman.

Soto takes this process seriously, and says his work has helped physically handicapped people, recovering drug addicts, and more attend church without the possibility of being judged from a traditional congregation, in real life.

After his baptism, a giant banana with sunglasses hugs Drumsy, while Winnie the Pooh, Tigerr, and Spongebob Squarepants looked on and cheered as well. Unfortunately for their procession, Spongebob soaks up all the water from the baptism pool and runs away.
