Square Enix “Undecided” on Bringing Definitive Edition Content for Dragon Quest XI S to Original Release

Yesterday Square Enix announced a worldwide release for the Nintendo Switch port of Dragon Quest XI S, they confirmed new contents and that it’s now a “Definitive Edition.” Owners of the original game for PC and PS4 were naturally curious if these contents would make it to the original release.

Now, we’ve learned Square Enix is “undecided” if they’ll bring the new contents – which include a fun retro visuals mode, a fully orchestrated soundtrack, and new stories for all the main characters – to the PC and PS4 release – news confirmed by Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is now available for Windows PC and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our extremely thorough review for the game here (we absolutely loved it!). Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition is launching for Switch sometime this fall.
