Triumph Studios and Paradox Interactive have revealed another faction for their upcoming sci-fi 4X game, Age of Wonders: Planetfall.

The Amazons are effectively the sci-fi equivalent of this long-running franchise’s Wood Elves or Druids. This all female faction are the descendants of biotech engineers that were left stranded on a inhospitable jungle world when the Star Union collapsed. By embracing genetic engineering they were able to adapt themselves to their jungle home, and tamed the mighty beasts that live there. You can check out the trailer above.

In terms of gameplay, the Amazons focus on stealthy tactics and terrain manipulation. They gain bonuses for building and traveling through forests, and have the ability to spawn them at will. They can also harass enemies by overrunning their terrain with vines to strangle their production, and summoning nests of alien wildlife that will attack their armies. No word yet if they offer same day delivery though.
