We’ve learned that Project Cars developer Slightly Mad Studios have plans to make a next-generation, virtual reality-ready gaming console.

The news comes via Slightly Mad Studios CEO Ian Bell, who tweeted their plans for what they’re currently calling the “Mad Box.”

While details are scant, the studio boss made claims that the console will be 4K resolution capable, run things at 60 FPS easily. Bell also mentioned the console will come with a full game engine, entirely free, which you can develop your own games with.

It’s worth pointing out that the developer has no experience with developing or engineering hardware, except building their own PCs for development and gaming.
