Today’s Spotlight is Kingdom Rush: Origins, the third installment in Ironhide Game Studio’s popular tower defense series. Its been out on mobile since 2014, but an updated version was recently ported to Steam.
Kingdom Rush is a fairly standard tower defense game, but the franchise has built up a pretty large following due to its polish and vibrant art direction. You are tasked with defending the elven kingdoms from waves of gnolls, monsters, and other evil creatures. Fortify your defenses with upgradable towers, troops, and powerful heroes. The game recently received a free expansion that adds new levels and three new heroes, which you can read about here. The developers plan to regularly release free expansions until the end of February.
Kingdom Rush: Origins is available on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam for $14.99. The iOS and Android version is $2.99, but features microtransactions.
