Gears of War Live-Action Movie Still Alive, xXx Screenwriter Added

While it’s been two years since Microsoft and Universal announced a live-action movie based on Gears of War, the film is apparently still alive and has some new talent behind its production.

Universal has signed on F. Scott Frazier as the film’s screenwriter, and while the name might be unfamiliar – he penned Collide (2016) and xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017). Previously, former professional wrestler-cum-actor Dave Bautista said he really wants to star in the film.

That’s basically all we really know on the film – it’s anyone’s guess what game it could focus on, or if it’s an entirely new spinoff set within the Gears of War franchise. Also I’m not sorry for making that cursed thumbnail.

We’ll keep you guys posted.
