Free-to-Play Version of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Announced, Launches November 22 in Japan

Square Enix has announced a free-to-play version for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

The new free version of the game is coming to the Japanese region on November 22nd, for PlayStation 4 – news confirmed (via psneolog) in the latest Monthly Shōnen magazine.

As the new free-to-play version will be free to start, characters will be swapped out in regular intervals, and it will not have a story mode. The specs and such on other game modes will be different from the full paid version as well. You will, however, be able to play with other free-to-play users, as well as owners of the paid version.

Save data from the free version can be carried over to the paid version, and some data from the arcade version can be carried over to the free version as well.

You can purchase characters individually for 800 yen with their “Basic” set, as well as a “Second Form” set for 300 yen and a “Fourth Weapon, EX Weapon” set for 100 yen. You can equip the Fourth Weapon, EX Weapon set onto free-to-play characters while they’re available, if they ‘re compatible with that weapon set.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT has been available for PlayStation 4, worldwide, and in Japanese arcades as Dissidia Final Fantasy.
