Sega Yakuza Boss Toshihiro Nagoshi Teases a New IP Reveal for September 2018

We’ve learned Sega is prepping up to reveal a big new game next month.

The news comes via the latest Sega Nama live broadcast (via Games Jouhou, Hachima), where Sega Yakuza Studio boss Toshihiro Nagoshi teased the reveal of an entirely new game.

Nagoshi said that the next Sega Nama broadcast, which is scheduled to come after this year’s Tokyo Game Show, will be a “big one,” noting they’ll talk up topics “no one is going to see coming.”

Co-host Ayana Tsubaki noted that Sega’s Yakuza studio typically shows things off at Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press event or at their own presentation, to which Nagoshi replied saying “I see that. The only tease I can give is that it is something truly different.”

Tsubaki naturally prodded Nagoshi if we’ll learn about it within the next month, to which he replied saying “That’s correct. It’s a new game announcement that will turn everything upside down.”

Lastly, Nagoshi also confirmed that it has been roughly three years since the initial planning segment of this title, further reiterating that we will properly learn about it between now and the next Sega Nama live broadcast, at the end of September.

This year’s Tokyo Game Show runs from September 20th to the 23rd. It’s possible we’ll see this new game at Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show presser, at Tokyo Game Show proper, or even during their next Sega Nama broadcast.
