Wired Productions has announced the release date for Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn.
The crowdfunded spiritual successor will launch across Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on June 5th. A retail version is planned with unconfirmed downloadable content, for $29.99/£24.99/€29.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as $39.99/£34.99/€39.99 on Switch.
Anyone who bought NBA Playgrounds for Switch before June 10th of last year will get a free digital copy of Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn upon release. If you backed the game on Indiegogo, you’ll get more details for your backer rewards directly through the game’s Indiegogo portal.

The world is on the brink of disaster. Demonic celebrities have taken over the planet. Only one man can save us: a poor Chinese orphan named Shaq Fei Hung. Our hero must travel to faraway locations to lay the smack down on these pop culture icons bent on our destruction. Will he triumph? Of course he will. It’s Shaq.
In Shaq Fu, players takes control of an unstoppable Shaquille O’Neal as he fights his way through the hordes of Hell and Hollywood. Dozens of different enemies face Shaq as he learns new moves, travels to unique locations and battles ever more dangerous legions of the damned. At the end of each journey, Shaq must face down a powerful boss ripped straight from tabloid headlines.
