Microsoft Quietly Confirms Next Gears of War and Halo Games

Following the news that Microsoft is launching their own developed games day and date on their Xbox Game Pass subscription platform with their retail launch, the company quietly confirmed a new Gears of War title in the same announcement.

The news pointed to Microsoft Studios-produced titles being added to the program, including “new iterations” of their “biggest  Xbox One exclusive franchises such as Halo, Forza and Gears of War,” on the same day they launch for Xbox One and or Windows PC.

The most recent title in the franchise, Gears of War 4, launched for Xbox One and Windows PC back in 2016 and was developed by The Coalition. The most recent mainline Halo game was Halo 5: Guardians, developed by 343 Industries and released for Xbox One back in 2015.
