Castle of Shikigami Finally Getting Localized via Degica

Degica Games has announced they’re localizing the original Castle of Shikigami.

Originally released in Japan as Shikigami no Shiro, the shoot ’em up first hit Japanese arcades back in 2001. It was later ported to PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2002. To clarify a bit of confusion, the game was released in the west as Mobile Light Force 2, however all of its story content was removed, as well as its screen rotation mode.

The game’s sequel, Castle Shikigami 2, has near legendary status among collectors and enthusiasts alike for its completely awful and probably unintentionally cringe-worthy English dub (I own a copy and play it usually once a year for laughs).

Further details, like release platforms, weren’t confirmed – however Degica typically releases games on PC, via Steam.

We’ll keep you guys posted.
