New Prey Demo Coming to Consoles April 27

Bethesda Softworks and Arkane Studios have announced a playable demo for their upcoming Prey reboot.

The new demo will launch on April 27th, and it’s curiously exclusive to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – sorry PC gamers.

Featured above, you can view a new trailer showcasing a taste of what’s in store within the demo. The demo will let players experience the first hour of the game.

Here’s a rundown on the demo, via Bethesda:

Morgan Yu is about to have a very bad day. Aliens have escaped containment, dead bodies now litter the hallways of the Talos I space station, survivors are huddled together for safety, and the Typhon aliens are threatening to destroy everything you hold dear. As Morgan, you’ll have to fight the invasion in order to save humanity. But it all begins with what should have been a typical first day on the job for Morgan. And now you can experience the game’s thrilling first hour in the console-exclusive demo for Prey.

Prey is launching across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 5th.

so they get briefly me curious about the game (inventory system, looks like a setting not a series of levels, weird enemies, bio/system shock vibes), then they pull this crap to make it well known that the PC version is an afterthought.
Guess this one also goes onto the “if it ends up on sale, patched and feature complete” pile.

So Arkane shits in our mouths with the Dishonored 2 PC port and give us acid to wash it down with now? What a fucking joke.

Not too interested in the game, but I may give the demo a try.

    Two possibilities:

    1. There’s a PC demo coming day and date with the console one, but they’re not marketing it because consoles take priority for some inane reason.

    2. They realize that a PC demo would datamined to hell and back before the actual game would get to release.

I was already interested in this game but now a demo? Definitely going to try it out. It seems like demos are making a bit of a come back. There was Gravity Rush 2, Nier Automata, NioH, RE7 and now this? Bethesda must be confident in their game especially since Prey is under development by the same studio that brought us Dishonored which is a great series btw.
