Panzer Corps 2 Announced for PC, Fully 3D and Built Within Unreal Engine 4

UK-based developers Slitherine and Flashback have announced Panzer Corps 2.

The new installment in the World War II strategy series is being developed within Unreal Engine 4, and is set for a release sometime next year. Featured above, you can view a teaser trailer for the new strategic war game.

While details are scant, the developers say the switch to Unreal Engine 4 allows for an impressive leap in both visuals and technical prowess, giving them the ability to show hundreds of World War II units on screen. They also promised “a level of quality and detail not seen before in a war game.”

As the original game was 2D, the switch to a full 3D engine just made sense. However, the studios are promising the core gameplay will remain “true to its roots,” in that you’ll experience a tribute to the golden age of strategy gaming, only refined and improved.

In the meantime, make sure to check out the game’s official forums.
