Worldwide Nioh Sales Break One Million Units

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced worldwide sales for Nioh have surpassed one million units.

This new milestone includes both retail and digital sales, and first launched back on February 7th, just two weeks after its release.

To celebrate the accomplishment, Koei Tecmo is going to distribute a “Golden Nioh Armor” (seen above) as a present to all users in a new 1.04 update, which is launching on February 24th.

Expect our thorough written and video review for Nioh forthcoming.

    That seems kinda low.

The game looks cool and from what I’ve heard of it it deserves more.

Nevermind.I checked Bloodborne’s numbers and are similar.Apparently they don’t need to sell as much as other AAA to male a profit.

Selling a million copies in two weeks on ONE platform is impressive. It not Uncharted/Halo but no expects it to be.

Most PS4 software sales can’t break the milestone of two million, the fact that Nioh sold 1 million in 2 weeks is very impressive.

So instead of a new AAA ninja gaiden they’ll probably make a half assed port on ps4 and then start making Nioh 2:Geralt saves Japan Again Electric Boogaloo

I’m glad that it’s being considered a big financial success for them. I just beat the game last night (61 hours playtime with all missions completed including the 2 nightmare fights that unlock when you beat the storyline) and I give the game a 9. It was a blast but there were some aspects that held it back from being as good as Bloodborne. I hope they are able to make a sequel that takes this foundation and improves on it by adding more enemy variety and a big open world in lieu of individual missions (doubtful but one can hope).

Idk. The game obviously doesn’t have the production values of bigger games, but it was in development for over a decade. Still, they’re off to a good start at least.

Good for them, I hear the game is great. Now get on that PC port Team Ninja. It did take you over 10 years to make the game to begin with, couldn’t have been cheap.

Not sure why people think most games sell 2 million. Fuck, even on the best selling consoles(NES,SNES,PS1,PS2,Wii) Most of the game library has not sold more than 2 million copies.

Expect there ARE games in this generation that broke more than two million sales. Splatoon for the Wii-U outsold Uncharted 4 by TWO MILLION UNITS (it did 4.06 million). Yes, an original IP for an unpopular console OUTSOLD one of Sony’s major franchises. If you must know, Pokemon’s X/Y did three times more than that.

Oh nice, I’ll have to snag that armor, it looks awesome.
Nioh has been a joy to play, I think I put it above Souls games, I dunno if I’ve just OD’d on Souls but Nioh feels much more fresh and snappy.
