Kingdom Come: Deliverance is Feature Complete, Focus is Now Squashing Bugs

With the end of the year coming, independent Czech developer Warhorse Studios have put out another update for their Kickstarter-funded RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Featured above, the studio reports that development on the medieval, historically-focused RPG is finishing up nicely. Right now, the game is feature complete, meaning the majority of assets and planned features are implemented. Now, Warhorse is focusing on squashing bugs, QA, and final tweaks.

“We now have all the features in the game,” creative director David Vavra said in the update. “The whole world is built, and all the quests and most of the assets are in. As you can expect, when we put all this together, everything broke and now we need to fix it.”

The game has roughly 80 quests in-game, and they’re all implemented. While this is more than what the studio planned, they did cut some quests so they can make their planned release window, including a stretch goal questline that featured a woman hero. This will be released later as DLC, free to backers as well.

Warhorse has squashed 10,000 bugs already, and they have a bit less than 4,000 to go – there are probably more to be found during QA as well. It’s worth mentioning the game has 3.5 hours of cutscenes and a script that dwarfs the Bible, so it’s definitely a massive game.

The game is being built on PC first and later ported to consoles, which Vavra points out has enabled them to further optimize the game because of the lesser hardware seen in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. He stressed this isn’t affecting the PC version, but will allow for the game to run better on mid-range machines.

The Bohemian-era, historical action RPG will launch sometime next year, worldwide. A release date will be announced in “the near future.” It’s worth mentioning the retail and digital releases will be launched on the same day.
