Samurai Shodown VI Hits PlayStation 4 on November 22 in North America

SNK Playmore is re-releasing Samurai Shodown VI on PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation 2 classic fighting game will launch for PS4 on November 22nd in North America. A European release hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

Here’s a rundown on the game, via SNK:


In additional to the 41 characters in the arcade version, there will be extra characters including 4 EX characters joining into battles as you clear specific conditions. Heat up the battle and decide the victory with a total of 52 characters in the samurai series all-stars! You can get 3 additional spirits “Devil (魔)”, “Beast (獣)” and “Ritual (祭)” if you fulfill other specific condition. Make use of a total of 9 kinds of spirits with 6 spirits from the arcade version!

    I think SNK is testing the waters with those PS2 releases to see which series they’d likely make a new entry for.

    I hope if SNK makes another Samurai Spirits game she’s included too though with a darker atmosphere similar to V Special and combat similar to II.

    I know this is unrelated but I hope games like Shadow Hearts and the Tenchu series would be released on PSN.

    I agree. While paying for PS2 games is somewhat laughable in this day in age, it is just nice to just open a file without any hassle. Even if the quality could be better.
