Debut Gameplay for Metal Gear Survive

Konami has shown off the debut gameplay for Metal Gear Survive.

Featured above, the first gameplay for the upcoming squad-based spinoff was revealed at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

The shooter involves up to four players in a squad as they cooperatively fight to wipe out dangerous monsters.

Metal Gear Survive is launching across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime next year.

I can’t even fathom on what this game is trying to appeal to. People who like buying MB coins for the inevitable buttfuck of microtransactions?

Can’t shake the feeling that this will be War Z with better gameplay, the microtransactions to buy weapons, supplies, skins etc etc will probably be three quarters of this game

Things like using a balloon fulton on an animal as a lure is neat but the horde defence section looked like it would get old fast and i’m waiting for the microtransactions shoe to drop.

Well this looks boring, unoriginal, and pitiful. It doesn’t improve on anything over MGSV’s gameplay (which is admittedly hard as the gameplay for MGSV was near perfect). And the premise is bonkers even by MGS standards, I thought MGS4 went as far as possible with sheer plot stupidity, but it looks tame by comparison.
So yeah, I’m not touching this with a ten foot pole and never giving Konami my money again.

Such a shame that the best they could do with the amazing gameplay foundation that was MGSV is this stuff. Wouldn’t have been that difficult to have someone write a better story than the dreck Kojima has fed us for the last decade or so either…

…guess that pretty much confirms Etsu Tamari isn’t at Konami anymore either.

This game is 99% reused assets. That map looks almost identical to one of the areas in TPP.

Barely, they just ripped shit from MGSV. PES uses it pretty poorly too.

Yeah, this feels like DLC for MGSV. The worst part is that it explores how MGSV co-op could’ve been, but with a single enemy type that can barely do anything besides shamble towards you awkwardly. And oh god, they could not help themselves but to shill out MGS Online at least three times in there I think.

I wanted to give it a fair shake but it’s nothing more than a fan mod so far.

Talk about nothing but a blatant cash-grab. This looks like it should have been free-DLC or an included side-OPs/mini game for MGSV like the older MGS Substances used to have.
    Fuck Konami to death.

several good additions horribly overshadowed by the fact that this should not be an entirely new game, oh yeah and derivative as fuck. bonus points for the spear though
